Inviting Patients to the Table: HealthSparq Sponsors Scholarships for 4th Annual Patient Experience Symposium
PORTLAND, Ore., February 5, 2020 – HealthSparq, a health care guidance and transparency technology company, announced it will once again sponsor the Patient Experience Symposium as part of its What’s the Fix? (www.whatsthefix.info) initiative. HealthSparq’s sponsorship will provide two scholarships for patients to attend the three-day event alongside senior health care leaders responsible for patient experience. This year’s event takes place May 11-13 in Boston.
“All health care conferences should include the patient perspective,” said Heather Burton, VP of Marketing for HealthSparq. “The mission of What’s the Fix? is to put patients front and center in health care conversations and having them at industry conferences is one way to do that. We’re excited to partner with the Patient Experience Symposium for the second year to bring two more wonderful patients to Boston.”
The sponsorship will enable the Patient Experience Symposium to reimburse $1,200 in patients’ travel expenses and provide them with full access to all events throughout the conference. Recipients will be selected based on the following criteria:
• Need of support to attend the event
• Current and past work towards driving change in health care
• Passion to drive change in health care
• Personal health care story
• Potential to gain personally and professionally from attending the conference
Scholarship applications will be accepted between February 5 and March 13, 2020, and the selected recipients will be notified in early April.
The Patient Experience Symposium (www.patientsymposium.com), in its fourth year, brings together senior-level health care professionals across the health care spectrum who are responsible for patient experience outcomes and includes special programming for health care executives, administrators, health IT experts, clinical trial operators, physicians and nurse leaders.
“As we embark on the fourth year of the Patient Experience Symposium, our goal is to bring the best and the brightest minds together for three full days of conversation, strategy and problem solving to create and build a better patient experience,” said Bill Doherty, Conference Director. “We were thrilled by the overwhelming response to the What’s the Fix’s patient scholarship initiative in 2019. It’s clear that patients and their voices are an integral part of the patient experience conversation and we are happy to be partnering with HealthSparq again this year.”

About What’s the Fix?
What’s the Fix? (#WTFix) is a movement focused on helping the health care industry learn from people. We’re not aiming to fix health care at the macro-level with What’s the Fix?, we’re looking to inspire people to commit to making the changes and to fix the areas they can. We do this by collecting and promoting patient stories that connect us and the health care industry as a whole to the actual people that the industry serves. About The Patient Experience Symposium
The Patient Experience Symposium (https://www.patientsymposium.com/) is a gathering of healthcare professionals, patient advocates, practitioners, educators, thought leaders, and patients who are transforming the patient experience, and changing the way people experience healthcare.
Our distinguished faculty provide insights as to what impact the patient experience has on both quality and economic improvements, what role leadership plays in creating the right culture for patient-centered care, and how to identify, evaluate and prioritize innovations that can quickly touch the lives of patients and practitioners.
And, unlike other conferences on this topic, patients share their personal stories, providing a real-world perspective on patient experience. Our attendees leave invigorated and inspired, with new tools and strategies to make patient experience the best it can be!
